Many GP’s are facing strong demand and lobbying from patients, carers and patient advocacy groups to
consider prescribing medicinal cannabis products for their patients.

This activity will
- Review GPs knowledge about medicinal cannabis: background and history of medicinal use
- Assess clinical uses, evidence and efficacy for prescribing medicinal cannabis to patients
- Evaluate practical considerations with administration and correct dosing of medicinal cannabis
- Consider potential risks, side effects, adverse reactions and drug interactions which may impact patient safety

A case study will be presented, and participants will review a treatment plan, including delivery methods and
the goals for medicinal cannabis use with their patients, if appropriate, and when clinically indicated.
